Visit The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

     Have you been to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts lately? If you have not there has been a total renovation. Did you know general admission is FREE? Located at 200 North Boulevard Richmond Virginia. There are charges for some special events like Mummy Secrets of The Tomb which is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors or student with ID. But, if you are a student purchase a membership for only $10 and enjoy free parking and free admission to most events.

     The museum has a little for everyone from Faberge' eggs and jewels to American Art to African Art to Asian Art. VMFA is a state-supported, privately endowed educational institution created for the benefit of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Its purpose is to collect, preserve, exhibit, and interpret art, to encourage the study of the arts, and thus to enrich the lives of all. That is there mission statement.  In the midst of the Great Depression, on January 16, 1936, Virginia's political and business leaders bravely demonstrated their faith in the future and their belief in the value of art by opening the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.

      VMFA has an award winning restaurant, Amuse Restaurant, fine-dining so, make time for lunch or dinner. There is even brunch on Sundays. Style Weekly named them “Restaurant of the Year” in 2011, and Richmond Magazine named them “2011 Best New Restaurant.” They even have gluten free and vegan dishes.
